New Dell KYCCH EqualLogic Controller Battery Backup for PS4100 PS6100 PS6100E
This Dell KYCCH is a new part but includes no packaging or documentation.
This new cache to flash (C2F) module is designed for Dell / EqualLogic controllers. The Dell part number (DPN) KYCCH / 0KYCCH is a Equallogic 'Cache to Flash' C2F module for the following array controllers:PS6100 (type 11 - green, 4x1Gb)PS4100 (type 12 - purple, 2x1Gb)PS6110 (type 14 - orange,1x10Gb)PS4110 (type 17 - yellow, 1x10Gb).
To confirm the part is correct, look at the unit's rear on the left-hand side, where you can locate the battery's daughterboard. Visually inspect the controller to ensure that you see the daughterboard with the capacitors (round blue components). This C2F module won't work in another series of controllers, so it's essential to make sure you have the correct part. Your array will notify you if it is in a critical state. Open the management GUI and check the development log. There can be an error message listed within the event log referencing the C2F module( 'C2F insufficient voltage', 'C2F high voltage', 'C2F low voltage', 'C2F Module Has Failed'). If you happen to receive a coin cell battery error message, this isn't the right part. That may be for a CR2032 coin cell battery within the front of the controller. Installing the new module is an easy 15-minute process and requires no soldering; Simply remove the two screws, use needle-nose pliers to remove the old battery, install the new battery, and replace the screws.
